Eleanor Dickson, Msci(Epi)

Research Assistant

Eleanor is a trained epidemiologist who completed her Master of Science in Epidemiology in 2023 and joined the Equine Orthopaedic Research Group the following year. As a Research Assistant, she contributes across all stages of the research process — from morning fieldwork collecting biometric sensor data to analysing stride characteristics in training and race-day datasets.

Her primary research interests lie in statistical modelling, focusing on musculoskeletal injury prediction, the role of race-day equipment in injury prevention, and advancing equine welfare.

You can find Eleanor upstairs, almost always accompanied by another cup of coffee, with the latest sports updates, and attempting (with mixed success) to propagate more succulents for her desk.
