Lucy Hunkin BVetTech
Equine Imaging Technician
For Lucy, horses have always been the way of life. From both her parents riding horses, to growing up spending weekends competing in showjumping competitions, it only made sense that this is also the career pathway she chose. Lucy graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology in 2019. She then went on to be the vet tech intern at the UQ Vets Equine Specialist Hospital & Production animal team, where she developed a keen interest in surgery and diagnostic imaging.
She pursued further training in these fields, eventually becoming the lead equine surgical nurse and interim equine diagnostic imaging nurse at UQ Vets. Her passion for equine nursing has now brought her to Melbourne, where she, her corgi Matilda, and her cat Poppy enjoy life in Williamstown. Outside of work Lucy enjoys anything active, she is either training at CrossFit or football when not in the equine hospital.
