Sue Jones

Sue graduated from University College Dublin in Ireland followed by an internship at a leading equine hospital in the UK. She then spent several years in equine practice in the UK and a couple of years doing locum equine work across Australia. Sue was selected for the Large Animal Ultrasound Fellowship Program in UC Davis California, in 2014.

She returned to the University of Adelaide before accepting a position as the first Equine Sports Medicine resident at the University of Melbourne under the supervision of Dr Cate Steel. She was accepted as a Member of the Australian New Zealand College of Veterinary Surgeons (Large Animal Radiology) in 2020 and a Diplomate of the American College of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2021.

She currently runs a referral ultrasound and sports medicine service in Melbourne in addition to working part time at the University of Melbourne. Her most recent research has been on the use of ultrasound in the diagnosis of proximal limb fractures in large animals.
